Course Mapping

GPS-map your home course for detailed yardage books

Overview

Course Mapping is a powerful tool for GPS-mapping golf courses. Walk the course with your phone to place markers for tees, greens, bunkers, water, and other hazards. Your mapping data powers the Yardage Books and Game Plans features, creating detailed hole-by-hole guides with accurate distances.

How to Use Course Mapping

1

Select a Course

Go to Course Mapping and select the course you want to map. You can map any course in our database.

2

Enter Mapping Mode

Open the interactive map and select your tool: marker placement, polygon drawing, or feature tagging.

3

Place Markers

Walk to key positions (tee boxes, green front/center/back) and drop GPS pins. You can also tap the map to place markers manually.

4

Draw Polygons

Outline fairways, bunkers, water hazards, and out-of-bounds areas using the polygon tool. Different feature types get different colors.

5

Review & Save

Review your mapping on the satellite view. Markers and polygons auto-save, and you can undo/redo any changes.

  • On mobile, the bottom toolbar has large 48px tap targets for easy use on the course

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to map every hole?

No. Map as many or as few holes as you like. Yardage books and game plans will show data for mapped holes and basic info for unmapped ones.

Can I map from home using satellite imagery?

Yes. You can place markers and draw polygons by tapping directly on the satellite map without needing to be at the course.

How accurate is GPS mapping?

GPS accuracy is typically within 3-5 meters. For the most precise mapping, stand at the exact position and use the 'Drop Pin Here' button.

Can I edit mapping after saving?

Yes. Return to mapping mode anytime to add, move, or remove markers and polygons. All changes auto-save.
